Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born on the 12th of July in 1988. She is a Canadian actress and singer. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to have won. O'Neil is most well-known as an actress due to her performances in the series Syfy as Two or Rebeccaand Portia Lin, and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama The Rookie. She was selected in the bottom three spots and two of the finals. The judges asked viewers to cast their votes for contestants similar to Melissa who had the most impressive vocal skills. O'Neil's performances were constantly praised and O'Neil did not slip back into the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, called O'Neil "a threat to win the whole thing". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie, made it to the finals on September 7, 2005. Werner, a judge famously said that the headlines for the following day's newspaper will be "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away. The Queen will live forever." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results show on September 14, 2005 . He went on to be crowned the third Canadian Idol.
