She was captain of both the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. In the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she received a gold medal at the team event as well as teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans with back-to-back team gold medals. Raisman was also awarded silver medals in the individual all-around, as well as for the floor exercise. She is the 3rd most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, following Shannon Miller and Simone Biles and has won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also part of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships on floor exercise in 2011. She was also the two-time champion of the national championship of floor exercise (2012,2015), the national champion in 2012 of balance beam and five times medalist in all-around at national championships (silver and bronze in the years of 2010 and 2011, 2012, 2012, and the year 2015). She was inducted into The International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
